My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I help clients understand the patterns behind their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships so they can respond rather than react. I draw from CBT informed and DBT informed skills, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care to help clients manage triggers, reduce rumination, calm an overactive mind, regulate emotions, and improve relationships. When it fits a client's goals, I can also integrate Relapse Prevention strategies and 12-Step Principles if desired. My role is to offer steady support, structure, and accountability, while helping clients build practical tools for lasting change.
In our first session, you can expect a calm, non-judgmental space where we get to know each other and start clarifying what brought you in. We'll talk about your goals, what's been working, what's not, and begin mapping out a plan together. I focus on making sure you feel heard, respected, and understood. By the end, we typically have a shared sense of your initial goals and some first steps you can start using right away. My role is to offer steady guidance and accountability while moving at a pace that feels safe and workable for you.
