Great to meet you!

Originally from Scotland and now proud to call South Jersey home, I bring both a global perspective and more than 25 years of clinical experience to the way I approach mental health care.

What I want my clients to know most is that I will listen. I believe you are the expert on your own experience, and my role is to bring clinical knowledge, evidence-based treatment, and thoughtful guidance while truly hearing what you have to say. I want you to feel comfortable telling me when something is helping, when it is not, or when a treatment simply does not feel right for you.

My goal is to be a warm, steady presence and to create a judgment-free space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. I value thorough assessment, clinical testing when appropriate, and careful medication management, but I never want treatment to feel like something being done to you. We will make decisions together.

Whether you are beginning treatment for the first time, returning after a difficult experience, or simply looking for someone to continue the care that has already been working for you, I will meet you where you are and support you as we determine what comes next.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is both evidence-based and deeply patient-centered. I value a thorough clinical history, appropriate screening and testing, and careful assessment, while also recognizing that each patient’s lived experience is essential to understanding what will work best for them. I listen closely, validate concerns, and allow you to help guide the direction of their care. When prescribing medication, I use evidence-based practices, but I also believe you should never feel pressured to continue a medication that does not feel right for them. There is no need to justify that decision—if a medication is not a good fit, we reassess, make a change, and continue the journey together until we find an approach that feels both effective and sustainable.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for me to truly understand you—not just your symptoms. Learn about the journey that brought you to this point. We will talk about your current concerns, past treatment experiences, and what you hope to achieve through care.

I will complete appropriate clinical assessments, review your medications in detail, and work with you to develop a treatment plan that reflects both evidence-based practice and your individual goals.

If you are coming to me for continued medication management, I will respect the treatment plan that has already been working for you. My goal is not to make changes simply for the sake of changing something, but to understand where you are, what has helped, and how I can support you as we continue your treatment journey together.
