Great to meet you!

Hello!

A little about who I am. I started school with a focus on computer science and served in the United States Army before finally circling back and getting my Bachelor's and Master's degree in social work. I did an internship in Victim Services at the DA's office, and also an internship at the Department of Veterans Affairs. I have now been working in addiction therapy for over five years and have carefully, and empathetically entered into client's stories when it comes to helping them through various issues contributing to their addiction. This includes working through issues such as anxiety, depression, severe trauma, and lack of resources and support. I am trained in and utilize EMDR therapy, and also have experience with DBT, ACT, CBT, and mindfulness practices.

My approach to therapy

Everyone's story is different, and I take great care with each and every story I encounter. My goal is to understand yours so I know the best path to helping you find healing and success in your life. I seek to find the balance between asking hard questions, and being a compassionate listener, as we navigate your story and find the best path that works for you.

What you can expect from me

This first session will be mostly introductory as we get to know each other and decide if this therapeutic relationship is going to be the best fit for you as the client. I will go over the basic guidelines, ask you some general questions, and allow you to ask questions as well. You will be doing important and vulnerable work if you decide to entrust me with your care, and I want to make sure you feel as comfortable as you can in that process.
