Great to meet you!

Welcome!

My path to becoming a therapist has been a little unconventional. Before entering the mental health field, I spent more than 20 years working as a paranormal investigator, author, journalist and television producer. However, it was always a goal to eventually return to school to become a professional therapist. It's something I've always felt a calling toward.

Today, I’m a licensed professional counselor who works with people navigating trauma, depression, addiction and recovery, major life transitions, spiritual, men’s and LGBTQ+ issues, military life, and other challenges that can leave us feeling stuck or searching for direction.

My approach to therapy

I believe in meeting people where they are, without judgment or expectations about where they “should” be. My approach is humanistic, reflective, and curious, but I'll also be direct! I'll encourage you when you’re struggling to see your own progress and challenge you when I believe you’re ready to take another step forward.

Sometimes my role is simply to walk alongside you; other times, it’s to help you notice a different perspective or possibility that may have been difficult to see on your own.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know one another. I’ll want to learn more about you, your background, and what brought you “through the door,” while giving you space to share at a pace that feels comfortable. We’ll begin identifying some of the concerns you’d like to address, as well as what you hope might be different in your life as a result of therapy. From there, we’ll work together to develop a plan for moving forward that feels meaningful and realistic for you.
