Welcome! My name is Ryan Burke and I am a clinical social worker in Bellingham, WA. I provide psychotherapy to clients in Washington State. I have a master's degree in social work with 22 years of experience working with children, youth, adults and families from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. I specialize in the treatment of children from hard places and men who struggle with identity, direction, and meaning.
My goal in treatment is to first build rapport, then identify core hurts, alleviate symptoms, and facilitate the change process with clients. To do this, I use motivational interviewing, CBT techniques, story, analogy, and humor to help people face their fears and doubts and overcome them through faith, meaning, beauty, and truth.
Clients should feel heard, understood, and valued in sessions with me. They will experience a place of genuineness, safety, grace and truth to explore the possibility of change in their life.
