Great to meet you!

I am from New Iberia, Louisiana and moved to New Orleans in 2015. I received my Master's in Social Work from Tulane University and began my career as a bilingual English-Spanish mental health therapist for a nonprofit working with youth ages 6-24. I went on to gain experience working in schools, with immigration attorneys, and with juvenile justice services. I started my private practice in 2021 where I serve individuals 12 and up and specialize in trauma and attachment.

A bit about my approach to therapy

In therapy, I believe in the balance of creating a safe space, facilitating a strong sense of trust, and utilizing skillful techniques to support my clients in achieving their goals. My specialty is in EMDR Therapy. I also use Internal Family Systems Therapy. These techniques allow for healing and growth to begin even when an individual is not ready to fully verbalize what they're going through. So much of the important work happens within their internal world and I'm just guiding the process.

What you can expect from our first session

After each session, my hope is that clients walk away with a greater self-awareness and understanding of their internal world. I also hope they will walk away with new perspectives and insight into their situation. The most important thing is that my client always feels heard and supported. Growth isn't always linear, but a strong therapeutic relationship should always be a constant and that's what I strive for.
