Great to meet you!

I believe that the strength of the relationship between therapist and client is more important than the therapist's education, background, or clinical approach. For this reason, I focus on building a foundation of connection, safety, and trust before getting into the heavy work. Having worked in both private practice settings and inpatient/outpatient addiction treatment, I have experience treating adults and adolescents from all walks of life with a variety of mental health concerns.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I believe it's important to learn ways to cope with the here-and-now, especially when it comes to experiencing overwhelming and sometimes confusing emotions. That being said, these emotional responses don't just come from nowhere. I believe it's equally important to figure out the sources of our pain and work towards healing and resolving any places where we've gotten "stuck." I mainly draw from CBT, Person-Centered, and Existential approaches.

What you can expect from our first session

I like to help clients learn to live in the present. In order to do so, I help guide clients through mindfulness practices; learn coping skills for anxiety, depression, and trauma responses; and help clients process painful experiences that may have been keeping them from moving forward in ways they didn't realize.
