Great to meet you!

Hello! If you're here, it likely means that you are looking for some mental health support due to circumstances specific to your daily life. I am someone who would like to work with you on managing those daily stressors! I have been working in the field since 2012. I wanted to make sure that by time I was independently practicing as a therapist that I would have experienced working with individuals from various stages of life. I wanted to make sure I had experience working with those experiencing a vast array of mental health struggles from general mental health struggles to chronic and severe mental illness.

My approach to therapy

I started my career working as a Community Mental Health Case Worker and specifically worked with individuals with more chronic and severe mental health diagnoses, such as MDD, Bipolar DO, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective DO, as well as a variety of anxiety issues and addictions. I have also spent time working in various levels of care from outpatient practice to lower levels of care, such as PHP and IOP, as well as even higher levels of care, such as Residential Treatment Centers (RTC). I have made sure to work with various age groups, too, so that I could help even more individuals with what they are struggling with. This includes adolescents (12-17), adults, and even seniors. I want to meet the individual where they are at and am willing to utilize more than one specific modality of therapy to support the client's needs. I have experience using CBT as well as am in the process of becoming DBT certified. I have also been certified in treating anxiety as well.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, I am going to start getting to know the client as an individual and use motivational interviewing to find out what it is that they are looking for out of therapy. No one treatment plan is going to be the same, and with that being said, I work with the client to individualize their goals/goals for therapy. I regularly use SMART goals with clients. Is your goal specific ("S")? Is your goal measurable ("M")? Is the goal you've set attainable/achievable ("A")? Is it realistic ("R")? Finally, is it a timely ("T")? I feel that this is the best way to help support my client in making sure that they are going to be able to get something worth while out of their time in therapy.
