A bit about my approach to therapy

Ryan works with you to identify your value and power using a strength based perspective. Ryan structures sessions based on your concerns and needs using a person centered approach. He recognizes your resilience and practices from an understanding that you are more than your experiences. Ryan works with you on overcoming barriers and focusing on your full potential. In practice he uses Motivational Interviewing (MI) to inspire you to make informed choices to increase your life satisfaction. In MI we resolve ambivalence and find a way for you to maximize ability in meeting your goals. Additionally, Ryan uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address behaviors and thoughts that cause dissatisfaction in your life. We work collaboratively to find solutions to those behaviors and thoughts in order for you to feel better over time.

What you can expect from our first session

Ryan has an affinity for meeting individuals where they are at and working together to create a safe space for individuals to make the changes they are seeking. He truly believes individuals should be empowered in making the changes they are seeking. Ryan has a passion for those who are committed to making life better for themselves, have an open mindset, and are willing to adapt to what is not working. He employs empathy and compassion to walk your journey with you and guide you in a path of positive healing. He truly practices from a belief that you are the captain of your own ship just looking for a navigator.
