Great to meet you!

I decided to become a mental health counselor when I was working as a teacher with students with exceptional needs. I found I wanted to help these students in more than just education, so I took the leap into the counseling field and haven't looked back.

Today, I work primarily with children and adolescents with ADHD, Autism, or Specific Learning Disabilities to help them be successful in and out of school. In this work, the family is crucial and I connect with the parents frequently.

In addition to working with children and adolescents, I continue to work with those with exceptional needs through adulthood.

My approach to therapy

In therapy, I utilize a mixture of neuroscience based techniques as well as play therapy and EMDR techniques to help my clients with whatever brings them to therapy. I find there is no one size fits all to working with people, and I like to find out how to use the interests of my clients to give them a positive experience and help them to understand themselves more.

What you can expect from me

In a clients first session, they can expect a warm and welcoming environment. My goal is to allow the client to feel safe and respected in the office. We may just talk or we may play some games to break the ice. The clients safety is my first priority.
