Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Saadiqa Kumanyika, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s transitions. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and specialize in perinatal mental health, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. My work is grounded, compassionate, and rooted in helping you feel more connected to yourself, your values, and your support systems. I strive to create a space where you can show up fully and feel understood without judgment.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I integrate evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, and mindfulness with a nature-based (ecotherapy) lens, helping clients slow down and tune into both their internal and external environments. I believe therapy should be both practical and reflective, offering tools you can use in your daily life while also creating space for deeper insight and healing. Together, we’ll move at your pace and focus on what feels most meaningful and supportive to you.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a warm, supportive conversation where we begin to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, what’s bringing you to therapy, and what you’re hoping for moving forward. There’s no pressure to share everything all at once—we’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. By the end of the session, we’ll start to identify initial goals and next steps so you leave with a sense of direction and support.
