I am a graduate of St. Lawrence University. I have over 12 years of experience working as a mental health counselor and over 15 years in the mental health field. I specialize in working with clients who have experienced trauma and is trained in EMDR. I also has an extensive history of working with clients who struggle with anxiety and depression.
The modality of treatment I use depends on the client's needs. I use a variety of styles in my therapy. I can be humorous, empathetic, empowering, and solution focused. My main priority is to be person-centered and genuine. The most common treatment modalities I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
My role in therapy is to walk alongside the client as a guide on their therapeutic journey. I cannot and will not tell the client what to do. This journey will consist of creating a treatment plan that consists of goals that the client wants to achieve during their time in therapy. I assist the client in achieving these goals by teaching them the tools that they need as well as providing psychoeducation.
