Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Sabrina, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 16 years of experience helping individuals navigate the complexities of mental health and life changes. My journey in this field began with a Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Saint Francis, followed by a Master of Social Work from IUPUI, and specialized counseling training at Marian University.

In my practice, Cardinal Rising, I believe that therapy should be as unique as the person sitting across from me. I bring a warm, down-to-earth approach to our sessions, often incorporating creative problem-solving to help you see your challenges through a new lens. While I provide a safe space to process your emotions, I am also deeply solution-oriented; we won’t just talk about the 'why'—we will work together on the 'how' to help you move forward.

I specialize in supporting clients through:

  • Anxiety and Life Transitions: Navigating the 'what's next' with confidence.
  • Crisis Intervention & Safety Planning: I am specifically trained in the CAMS (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality) framework.
  • School-Based Concerns & Family Dynamics: Drawing on my extensive background in school-based therapy.

Whether you are looking to break old patterns or simply need a supportive space to catch your breath, I am here to help you rise to your next chapter. I look forward to working with you!"

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is a partnership, not a lecture. My style is warm and highly interactive—you won’t find me just sitting back and nodding. I show up as a real person in our sessions, bringing empathy, a bit of humor, and a directness that helps us get to the heart of what matters.

My approach is integrative and creative. I recognize that traditional 'talk therapy' isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. I enjoy using creative problem-solving and evidence-based tools to help you identify patterns that no longer serve you. We will work together to build a toolkit of practical, solution-oriented strategies that you can actually use in your daily life.

Specializations & Focus

While I work with a wide range of concerns, I have a deep focus in:

  • Navigating High-Stress Transitions: Helping adults and professionals manage the 'burnout' and identity shifts that come with major life changes.
  • Crisis Stability & Management: As a CAMS-trained clinician, I provide a specialized, collaborative framework for those navigating intense emotional distress or thoughts of self-harm. My goal is to create a space where we can talk about the hard things without judgment.
  • Empowerment & Self-Advocacy: Drawing on my background in social work, I help clients navigate systemic challenges and personal boundaries to regain a sense of agency in their own lives.

What you can expect from me

The first session is all about 'landing.' My primary goal is to ensure you feel safe, heard, and respected from the moment we begin. I strive to create an informal, warm, and non-judgmental environment—think of it as a professional conversation with someone who is truly in your corner.

During our first 55 minutes together, we will:

  • Share Your Story: We’ll discuss what brought you in and what 'better' looks like for you right now. You only share what you are comfortable with; we go at your pace.
  • Identify Immediate Needs: We focus on the 'here and now.' If you’re in the middle of a crisis or a major life transition, we prioritize stability and relief first.
  • Collaborative Goal Setting: Before you leave, we’ll have a roadmap. You won’t walk away wondering 'what now?' We will establish a clear, solution-oriented plan tailored to your specific life and needs.

My hope is that you leave our first session feeling a sense of lighter shoulders and the confidence that you don’t have to navigate this chapter alone. We aren't just here to talk about the past—we are here to build your future.

Not sure if we're a fit? Feel free to message me for a 15-minute 'vibe check' call before you book. No pressure either way!
