Great to meet you!

Professional, experienced, and knowledgeable Licensed Mental Health Counselor working with clients navigating both mental health and physical health challenges while providing a compassionate and comprehensive approach to care. I welcome individuals, families, and couples seeking support with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and chronic health conditions. My background as both a Registered Nurse and Licensed Mental Health Counselor allows me to support clients in understanding the mind-body connection and creating realistic, sustainable paths to wellness.

My therapeutic style is collaborative and client-centered, integrating evidence-based modalities, including cognitive-behavioral techniques, trauma-informed practices, and solution-focused strategies, with a strong emphasis on holistic care. I employ a warm, direct, and empowering approach, helping clients strengthen their coping skills, improve communication, and build resilience in the face of stressors.

My professional background spans over 32 years, encompassing healthcare, behavioral health, and public health. I have served as a Registered Nurse in hospital, outpatient, and case management settings; as a behavioral health case manager; and as a clinical leader in infection prevention and public health programs. I am also a Qualified Supervisor in Florida for MFT and LMHC candidates, reflecting my commitment to mentorship and professional development in the field.

My approach to therapy

With my unique combination of clinical nursing knowledge, mental health expertise, and public health leadership, I bring depth, versatility, and dedication to every therapeutic relationship.

What you can expect from me

In the first therapy session, clients can expect to establish a foundation for the therapeutic relationship by focusing on building rapport and trust. We will review administrative details, including confidentiality limits, cancellation policies, and record storage procedures. An initial intake assessment is completed to gather background information and assess your needs. At times, additional personal questions may be asked to understand your situation. The first session is not about finding all the answers but about establishing a foundation for future sessions and creating a safe space for you to share and determine a path forward, rather than on immediate, comprehensive problem-solving. The first session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and decide if you want to continue with me as your therapist. In conclusion, based on the information gathered from speaking with you and from your initial intake assessment, we will collaboratively create a treatment plan that will outline the goals of therapy, frequency, and the format of future sessions.
