Dr. Saeed Ahmed MD

Dr. Ahmed is a triple board-certified psychiatrist with certifications in General Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as Addiction Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He specializes in the treatment of a broad range of psychiatric and substance use disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar and other mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, PTSD, psychosis-related conditions, and addiction, with an emphasis on compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized care.

Dr. Ahmed is affiliated with St. Francis Hospital, where he serves as Chair of Psychiatry. He is also an Assistant Professor at UConn and Quinnipiac University. He has received several national awards recognizing his contributions to the field, with recent honors including the 2026 Connecticut Psychiatric Society Service to Patients Award.

Our first session will focus on understanding your concerns, mental health history, and treatment goals.

This practice adheres to strict legal, ethical, and medical guidelines for prescribing controlled substances (e.g., stimulants, benzodiazepines, opioids).

Prior prescriptions or self-reported diagnoses do not guarantee continuation or initiation of these medications. All treatment decisions are based on clinical judgment, evidence-based practices, and medical necessity. If a controlled substance is not appropriate, the request will be respectfully declined.
