Great to meet you!

Hello! Nice to meet you! I am 55, married, and have three adult children, and two grandchildren! I have an MS in Licensed Professional Counseling, am a Licensed LMHC in FL, and have MCAP and ICADC certifications in FL. I have worked over 14 years in the substance use and mental health field, and currently am a Private Practice Psychotherapist working with children, adolescents, and adults ages 5-65. I work fulltime with children and adolescents in a secondary school.

My approach to therapy

Therapeutic approaches I use; Wellness Model of Counseling, emphasizing strengths as well as personal choices and the importance of daily decision making; Solution Focused Therapy, focusing on solutions to problems and discovering the strengths a person has; Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which can be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, eating disorders, and PTSD to name a few; and Motivational Interviewing to empower my clients.

What you can expect from me

I value the relationship with my clients, believing that such a relationship is the beacon in the healing process. I use an eclectic approach in use of therapy models when working with individuals, couples, families, and those who consider themselves in the LGBTQIA+ community. Empowering the client, so they can focus on what works for them, and not a systematic approach that provides a generic procedure on working on a treatment is what the client can expect to take away from session with me.
