Great to meet you!

You may be managing a lot at once while trying to keep up with everyday responsibilities but sometimes feeling anxious, overwhelmed, distracted, or emotionally drained makes small tasks feel difficult to accomplish, anxiety can leave you constantly anticipating what might go wrong, and family or relationship challenges can add another layer that makes you feel stuck.

You may also be carrying experiences from trauma that continue to affect how you feel, respond, or connect with others. If all of this sounds familiar and you're ready to close this chapter and start anew, I'd love to connect.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing anxiety, ADD/ADHD, family issues, infant maternal mental health issues, and trauma.

These concerns can naturally intersect with depression, stress, irritability, cultural experiences, infant maternal mental health, relationship difficulties, PTSD, and other challenges that continue to show up in different patterns of your life.

Therapy can be a place to step out of the pressure of managing everything on your own and make sense of what you are experiencing. Together, we can build on your strengths, develop practical tools, and work towards feeling more confident and connected in your everyday life.

My approach to therapy

We’ll explore how anxiety, ADD/ADHD, family issues, and trauma may be affecting your emotional wellbeing and the way you experience yourself and your relationships. We will work together in unraveling the thoughts that have been wound so tightly together, and slowly supporting you as you release the tension in your mind and thus letting the weight of all of those thoughts roll off of your shoulders.

I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress, Structural Family Therapy to better understand family dynamics and create healthier patterns of interaction, and Relational approaches to explore how your relationships may influence the way you feel and respond. Psychodynamic Therapy can help us understand how earlier experiences may continue to affect you in the present, while Person-Centered Therapy provides a supportive space to feel heard, understood, and accepted. I may also incorporate Motivational Interviewing when you are considering change, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy to help you develop greater awareness of difficult thoughts and emotions, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when past experiences continue to affect your sense of safety or wellbeing. Depending on what your needs are and what you are looking to address we will adjust our process accordingly to give you the best course of action.

Our work will be collaborative, compassionate, and practical, with the approach adapting to what you need rather than expecting you to fit into a predetermined version of therapy.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what needs to change or have everything figured out before we begin. During our first few sessions, we will take time to understand the process, create a safe space and work through what has been most difficult, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we will identify goals that feel meaningful and realistic and decide where it makes the most sense to start. You can expect me to listen with warmth and curiosity, ask thoughtful questions, and create a space where you can talk openly without feeling judged. Progress may look like feeling less overwhelmed by anxiety, finding strategies that make ADHD easier to manage, improving communication and patterns within your family, feeling more confident navigating the expectations and experiences that come with being a woman, or processing trauma so that it has less influence over your present day relationships. We will continue checking in on your goals and adjust our work as your needs evolve. Therapy is not about changing who you are—it is about helping you better understand yourself, build on your strengths, and create a life that feels more authentically you.
