Great to meet you!

I'm have practiced Marriage and Family Therapy for 18 years. My approach to therapy is adapted to the individual and their life experience when they enter therapy. Generally speaking, I take a person-centered approach to therapy while drawing upon a range of techniques and theories. I have assisted people with mood disorders and various diagnosis, helped individuals and couples create more fulfilling relationships, and facilitated individuals in finding solutions to their problems.

I typically work with individuals and couples, but have also worked with families, adolescents, and children. I have worked with mood disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD & OCD. I also have extensive experience working with couples and individuals with relationship issues.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy includes person-centered and humanistic approaches to treatment, including Gestalt and Narrative therapy. I also draw upon psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory (how our early attachments impact our present relationships), transactional analysis (how we relate as a child, adult, or parent in our interactions), spiritual psychology, & cognitive behavioral therapy.

I take an informal approach to therapy and seeing the client as having their own wisdom while also recognizing they have come to therapy to receive professional insight, direction, and guidance. I am friendly, approachable, and create a comfortable and safe environment. I also recognize that humor can be a helpful part of therapy.

What you can expect from me

The client can expect a place where they can share their current experience with someone who is empathetic, caring, and non-judgmental. The client has a place to be heard while also receiving any insights that I may have that the client is invited to consider as a possible fit for their experience. We may also develop specific goals and interventions to assist you in ways that we agree upon.
