Great to meet you!

Some of the hardest moments in life are invisible. The world doesn't always know what to say, how to respond, or awareness something even happened. Perinatal mental health lives in that space: the longing, the loss, the love tangled up with overwhelm. Whatever you are carrying that led you here, know it is real, it matters, and you do not have to navigate it alone.

I'm Salvina, an LPCC specializing in perinatal mental health, with a foundation in early childhood mental health and family counseling. I work with individuals and couples navigating infertility, miscarriage, pregnancy, child loss, the transition into parenthood, postpartum anxiety, and postpartum depression. I'm certified in Motivational Interviewing, trained in Gottman Therapy, and currently completing my Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. I've been practicing full-time for almost four years.

My approach to therapy

My approach is active and deeply personalized. I draw from a wide range of evidence-based modalities (including CBT, DBT, IFS, Narrative Therapy, EFT, and Gottman) and adapt in real time to what each session calls for — and I'm always transparent about what we're doing and why, because therapy works best when you're an informed participant in your own process. When grief needs space, I hold it. When you're ready to move forward, I bring the tools, direction, and creativity to help you get there. With depression, I focus on naming the parts that often go unspoken, isolation, guilt, shame, loss of identity, and I encourage clients to see depression as something happening to them, not who they are.

Clients describe me as warm, direct, a little humorous, and genuinely invested: someone who understands both the clinical picture and the cultural and personal context that shapes who you are. I care about the person in front of me, not just the problem we're solving together.

What you can expect from me

I'm a goal-based therapist, so our first session is about building rapport and helping you articulate what you need and what you want out of therapy. I don't see clients as a list of issues or symptoms. I see human beings with things they want to solve and accomplish. Understanding your goals lets me target treatment that actually fits you.

By the end of our first session, my goal is for you to feel understood, to feel like you matter, and to feel like what you're working toward is achievable. Even if you're walking in during a crisis, I meet you where you are — and talking through your needs in that moment tends to be soothing in itself, building trust that you're in capable hands.

You are not alone in this. And there is a way through.
