Great to meet you!

I've worked with individuals and families as a therapist for over 40 years—first as a marriage and family therapist, and then as a clinical psychologist. I received my bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and his doctorate from the Rosemead School of Psychology. I served as an adjunct professor at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles. I served as an associate clinical professor at Fuller’s Graduate School of Psychology in Pasadena, California. I'm the author of two books on the change process. I keep good boundaries. MOST IMPORTANT, you need to know that I am constantly on my own personal growth path since the first therapist that I saw in my 20's until now.

My approach to therapy

I strongly believes in a process of “collaborative healing” where the client and the professional team-up to bring about a therapeutic and growing process together. I listen with my whole person. I am actively involved in the process. I am empathic but not touchy-feely. I am not afraid, nor reluctant, to tell you what I see (when you're ready to hear it). I respect you and your unique issues, person and process.

What you can expect from me

It totally depends on you (or the couple/family) and what you want and what you need (not always the same thing). Do you want/need feedback or perspective, I'll give it. If you want to go for deep healing (and re-writing of your internal algorithm), let's do it. If you need direction or problem solving, let's unpack it. Need to communicate better with loved ones or people at work, let's understand and then break some unhelpful habits. Do you need to heal some early wounds, let's mindfully melt them with compassion (see my book on the Wizard of Oz). What you won't get is someone who will direct your life. But I will try my best to help you do that for yourself.
