Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than 30 years of experience in the mental health and behavioral health field. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of North Florida in 1995 and earned my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College in 2009.

Throughout my career, I have focused primarily on substance use disorders and the co-occurring mental health and life challenges that often accompany addiction. My approach is grounded in compassion, understanding, and the belief that meaningful and lasting change is possible.

My approach to therapy

My approach to treating addiction is person-centered and integrates 12-Step principles with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). My experience has shown that this combination can be effective in addressing addiction and co-occurring disorders while helping individuals develop practical problem-solving skills and make healthier, more informed choices.

I also encourage family involvement in the therapeutic process. I believe that when family members are educated about addiction, recovery, and the challenges associated with co-occurring disorders, they are better equipped to provide meaningful support. Involving families can strengthen the recovery process and increase the likelihood of long-term success.

What you can expect from me

Our first meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a therapeutic relationship. It also allows me, as your therapist, to gain a better understanding of your current concerns, immediate needs, and goals so that we can determine how I can best support you.
