Great to meet you!

I have been a professional counselor since 2005. I did counseling before that as a pastor. I was a pastor for 43 years, and I still preach for my pastor when he is ill or away. I also play the piano each Sunday and sing a special song. I received a BA from Hardin-Simmons University, a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a MA from Mary Hardin Baylor University. I am licensed by the state of Texas for counseling. I specialize in relational counseling. I want to get to know my client and fully understand what they are experiencing. I also used Cognitive Behavioral method because how you think is how you act. I do not force a spiritual perspective on any client, but I am very open to discuss how God can change any situation. I also often pray with my clients when they are open to that.

My approach to therapy

I am very relational. I want to get to know you before offering too much advice. I listen and encourage my clients to open up and express their feelings. I do my best to avoid judgement or criticism. We are all traveling this road together, and all of us fall short of our own expectations. I believe in second chances and the certainty that anyone can change their behaviors.

What you can expect from me

A new client can expect a relaxing conversation with me. They can expect an open mind and a sincere heart. They can expect a time to warm up to the atmosphere and gently wade into the water of therapy.
