Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Sam (she/they). I am a National Board-Certified (NCC) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who obtained my Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of New Haven. Imbued with a passion for helping others, I have vast experience with various populations, diverse communities, and clinical needs including, but not limited to, anxiety, life transitions (including college life), gender identity, relationship/family dynamics, neurodivergence, and trauma. It's normal to feel lost, we are after all, human. If you're looking for a therapeutic experience that's a little quirky, queer, neurodivergent, and fat positive you've come to the right place. My goal is to provide you with a space where you can truly be yourself - no matter what that looks like. As a queer and neurodivergent human, I know what it's like to search for a therapist who can relate to lived experiences - connection is the foundation of any relationship, especially a therapeutic one. I specialize in the treatment and management of eating disorders as well as providing gender-affirming care. I am also EMDR trained for those seeking this type of therapy.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach is person-centered, compassion focused, and trauma-informed. My lens is from a health at every size (HAES) and body neutral/body liberation perspective, in addition to intuitive eating, and supportive of the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. As a culturally sensitive therapist and a human being, I believe everyone has a voice and everyone deserves to be cared for and supported. Everyone is welcome and everyone is accepted regardless of how you identify.

What you can expect from our first session

You can expect to laugh (when you're ready), feel comfortable and safe, heard and respected. We're a team. I'm here to provide you with skills, confidence, and to feel empowered to tackle whatever life has thrown at you. No matter who you are, or how you show up in our sessions, you'll be greeted with kindness and care.
