Great to meet you!

I'm Sam — I work with teens and adults navigating some of life's harder chapters. I've had the chance to work with people carrying anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, relationship stress, and the kind of slow-burn exhaustion that builds when life isn't matching the life you imagined. What matters most to me is that you feel like yourself in the room (or on the screen) — not performing okayness, not bracing for judgment. I'm newer to the field, which means my training is current and evidence-based, and I bring genuine enthusiasm to this work rather than going through the motions. I offer a sliding scale for those who need it. Sessions are available virtually across South Carolina.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative — which means I'm not here to hand you a workbook and send you home. I draw on mindfulness-based techniques, trauma-focused care, motivational interviewing, CBT, and narrative therapy, but I always let your goals and your pace guide what we use. I believe most people already know more about what they need than they give themselves credit for; my job is to help you hear yourself more clearly and build on what's already working. I also use psychodynamic and strength-based approaches, so if you want to explore the deeper patterns underneath the day-to-day struggle, we can go there too. We'll find the rhythm that works for you.

What you can expect from me

Expect a real conversation — not a checklist. In our first session I'll ask questions to understand what's been going on, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping therapy can do for you. You don't need to have a clear answer to that last question; a lot of people come in just knowing something needs to change. I'll share what I'm noticing and we'll start mapping out what working together might look like. Most people leave the first session feeling a little lighter just from being heard — and a little clearer on whether we're a good fit. If you want to get a feel for my style before committing, I offer a free 15-minute phone consult — just reach out and we'll set that up.
