Great to meet you!

Before pursuing my Master’s in Psychology at The Citadel, I was the founder and executive director of a grassroots non-profit that focused on asset based community development in the Eastside neighborhood of downtown Charleston, SC. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for intertwining psychology with lived experience, by focusing on people’s individual stories. I have been practicing therapy in a clinical setting since 2018, and launched my private practice in 2020. I am a National Board Certified Counselor, am trained in EMDR and am in the process of completing training to become a Gottman Certified therapist for couples.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered, meaning that we will focus on the goals that you deem important for your emotional and mental health. I find therapy to be a collaborative endeavor, which means that the therapist does not have all of the answers or advice, but both the therapist and client can problem solve together in a way that aligns with the client's values and goals.

What you can expect from me

In a first session, clients are mostly providing background information and answering questions to gather the context of their "why" for therapy. By the end of our first session together, I hope to have one or two concrete goals established that will guide our treatment together.
