Great to meet you!

I believe the key to living a satisfying and fulfilled life is learning to live true to yourself. That is why I named my practice Deeper Understandings Counseling. My goal is for each client to look back on our work together and feel that they have gained a deeper understanding of themselves, how their environment impacts them, and how to communicate more effectively with the people they care about.

I work with adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, panic disorders, relationship issues, family stress, men’s issues, women’s issues, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, anger, identity concerns, and stress management. Many of my clients are working to better understand patterns in their relationships, build self-advocacy, set healthier boundaries, clarify goals, and feel more connected to who they are. Together, we can explore what has shaped your experiences and begin creating changes that support a more grounded, authentic, and fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, relational, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when we look at the whole person, including your relationships, environment, history, strengths, values, and current stressors. From that deeper understanding, we can identify patterns, build insight, and develop practical tools that support meaningful change.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Attachment-Based Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Relational Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Positive Psychology. Depending on your goals, our work may focus on managing ADHD symptoms, reducing anxiety or panic, improving emotional regulation, processing trauma, strengthening communication, setting boundaries, navigating relationship or family patterns, or building greater self-trust. My goal is to help you better understand yourself while developing tools that translate into your daily life.

What you can expect from me

During the first few sessions, you can expect to talk about a little bit of everything in your life pertaining to the past, present, and future. Functioning from a systems perspective, I like to gain clarity on the many parts of your life so I can develop a fully conceptualized understanding of what may be contributing to the symptoms, stressors, or patterns that bring you to therapy.

You can expect a warm, direct, and open-minded space where we move collaboratively and at a pace that feels supportive. We will explore what you hope to gain from therapy, identify goals, and begin building tools for self-advocacy, boundary setting, communication, coping skills, and emotional awareness. Over time, therapy can help you feel more grounded, better understood, and more confident living in alignment with who you are and what matters most to you.
