Great to meet you!

Samantha has worked in the mental health field since 2019. She obtained her Masters and Social Work from Washburn University. She began her clinical path in 2014 while working in oncology at St. Francis Comprehensive Cancer Center at The University of Kansas St. Francis Campus. This experience shaped her commitment to supporting individuals and families facing complex medical conditions and emotional challenges.

With many years of experience, Samantha brings specialized training and clinical insight in working with chronic pain, cancer, terminal illness, palliative care, and hospice. She understands that living with physical and emotional suffering can be overwhelming and isolating. Her work is grounded in the belief that no one should navigate these experiences alone, and she is dedicated to providing steady guidance and compassionate support.

My approach to therapy

Samantha has deep empathy for individuals in vulnerable situations and utilizes evidence-based treatment approaches tailored to each client's needs. She is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a structured and research-supported protocol effective for emotional dysregulation, mood instability, relationship distress, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms. She has also completed training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and IAFF Behavioral Health Awareness. Samantha is currently pursuing certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
