Great to meet you!

I work primarily with individuals and couples who need assistance in learning what to do when difficult emotions appear. I work with couples navigating the same arguments over and over or individuals wondering, "Why does this feel so hard?" Areas of specialty include:

  • Anger and areas of conflict
  • Cycles of closeness and withdraw
  • Emotional distance and disengagement
  • Healing from affairs
  • Lack of trust and insecurities
  • Dating
  • Premarital counseling
  • Separation and divorce
  • Parenting issues
  • Power and control issues

Finding the right therapist, and starting therapy, can be both exciting and perhaps overwhelming. But your story matters--it is unique to you.

I can help with solving current struggles, as well as past wounds which may contribute to distress. I help those who want deeper insight into those areas they feel stuck; negative patterns of relating; or feeling blocked from living their best life.

My approach to therapy

I use an evidence-based mindfulness approach to create insight into the patterns of your thoughts and feelings. As this is an awareness-based therapy, changes you can expect include a better sense of balance and freedom in relationships, more self-acceptance, and the ability to manage moods and negative patterns that have developed in response to past negative experiences. This helps regulate your nervous system, lowering both depression and anxiety.

Clients develop a growing curiosity and capacity to be in relationship with what is happening in the present moment of our work together. This openness and freedom translates to an ability to remain stable, energetic and positive in your life.

I offer a warm, engaged and non-judgmental space for you to share your feelings. To be human is to need safe connections. As most emotional suffering originates in relationships, it is not surprising then that a healing relationship with a therapist goes a long way to offering relief. It’s hard to make changes alone, or to think your way out of habitual patterns of relating to yourself and others.

Often times, we aren’t aware of how much there is to discover until we are struggling with a transition, feeling overwhelmed or stuck by present day challenges or previous traumas.

What you can expect from me

Positive change can happen in the context of a genuine and open connection. I will support you to sort through your relationships, past and present, and understand how you have been shaped by them so that you may live more freely.
