Dr. Samantha Calvillo

I am a second-generation Latina dedicated to supporting Latinas/os in breaking generational cycles that no longer serve them. I am equally passionate about serving survivors of sexual assault and abuse. As a therapist, I aim to help individuals navigate life with intention, peace, and purpose.

My educational background informs my holistic approach: I hold a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, which provides a person-in-environment perspective; a master’s in Social Welfare, which reinforces my commitment to social justice; and a doctorate in Social Work, which enhances my clinical skills and my ability to incorporate research into practice.

I believe therapy should be both grounded in research and deeply compassionate. I leverage my clinical training to provide quality care and my lived experience to foster genuine connections with clients.

My approach is client-centered, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based practices. I draw from research-supported modalities, including EMDR, the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help you move toward your goals with clarity and purpose.

Your needs and voice will always guide our work. I believe therapy is most effective when you feel empowered, heard, and in control of the process. While you set the direction, I bring clinical expertise to ensure our sessions are intentional, structured, and focused on meaningful progress.
