Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Samantha Ciccarelli, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York. I work with adults navigating stress, anxiety, anger management, relationship concerns, behavioral health issues, domestic violence, sexual behaviors, and men’s issues.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and solution-focused. I aim to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being honest, exploring patterns, and building real-world strategies for change. Together, we focus on improving emotional awareness, strengthening coping skills, enhancing communication, and supporting meaningful, lasting growth.

Outside of therapy, I’m someone who values balance, creativity, and connection. I love sports and crafting, and I often bring that mindset into my work, helping clients find “playbooks” for life the same way we would for a team, or encouraging creative outlets as healthy ways to manage stress and express emotion. These interests reflect how I see therapy: practical, human, and focused on building tools that actually fit into everyday life.

I believe people already have strengths within them, and my role is to help bring those forward in a way that feels doable, supportive, and sustainable.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and goal-focused. I use evidence-based methods like CBT and skills training to help clients understand patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and build healthier ways of responding.

I specialize in anger management, domestic violence concerns, stress management, and men’s issues, with a focus on emotional regulation, communication, and behavior change. My goal is to help clients develop insight and practical tools they can use in everyday life for lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we focus on understanding what brought them to therapy and what they hope to change. I’ll ask questions about current concerns, relevant history, and what’s been helpful or unhelpful in the past.

Together, we begin identifying goals for therapy and what progress would look like in a practical, meaningful way. My focus is on creating a clear direction while also ensuring clients feel comfortable, heard, and respected at their own pace.

Clients can also expect to leave the first session with a sense of structure for our work together, along with initial strategies or reflections they can begin using right away if appropriate.
