Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Samantha — a licensed therapist who works with people questioning their relationship with food, substances, or things from your past that are influencing your present. If you're not sure whether what you're going through "counts," or you've never said any of this out loud before, this is a good place to start. There's no judgment here — just space to figure things out.

I hold a master's in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from NYU, and I've worked across detox centers, intensive outpatient programs, and private practice — so I've sat with people at every point in this process, from the first time they questioned something, to active treatment, to figuring out life after.

If your relationship with food feels complicated or hard to talk about, I'd like to hear about it — I also work alongside treatment teams when clients need that extra support. If something from your past still shows up in ways that are hard to explain, I use EMDR alongside talk therapy to work through it at your pace. And if you're wondering whether your relationship with drinking or other substances has shifted into something worth a closer look, you don't need a crisis to bring that here.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and paced around you — never a script, never rushed. I draw on humanistic, CBT, and DBT frameworks, but the real work happens in the relationship we build together. You don't have to have the words figured out yet, or know exactly what's wrong. We'll figure that out together, without judgment.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting a full picture of you — I'll ask about your history and what's brought you here, along with some standard intake questions. It's a bit more structured than later sessions, but I keep it warm and conversational rather than clinical. By the end, we'll have a sense of direction for our work together, at whatever pace feels right for you.
