Great to meet you!

Hi, I am Samantha Jensen, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I take a compassionate and collaborative approach to therapy, helping clients navigate difficult life transitions and relationships. My specialty lies in addressing relational cycles and helping people deepen their connection with others and themselves. I also have extensive experience in trauma work, supporting clients in their journey toward healing and resilience. Like many people, I’ve faced challenges in my relationships, family, and mental health, and I know how overwhelming it can feel at times. Having been through some tough moments myself, I’ve developed a deep empathy for others and a real appreciation for how powerful it can be to have support. I was drawn to this work because I know how life-changing it can be to feel understood and to have someone help you make sense of things. I love being that person for my clients and helping them find healing, growth, and connection.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I use IFS as a tool to help clients deepen their emotional understanding and process difficult feelings, fostering a sense of inner harmony. I am formally trained in EFT, having completed both the externship and advanced core skills training. This humanistic approach focuses on improving attachment and bonding in adult relationships, using principles of attachment theory and neuroscience to address and transform problematic emotional states and interpersonal dynamics. Together, these approaches allow me to support clients in achieving meaningful growth and deeper connections.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we’ll take some time to get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask a few questions about your history, what you’re going through now, and what you’d like to work on, but we’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We’ll also chat about how I approach therapy and what our work together might look like. Most importantly, it’s a chance for you to see if I feel like a good fit for you—finding the right therapist is so important, and I want you to feel confident and supported as we move forward.

Goal setting is an essential part of the therapeutic process. I work with my clients to establish a shared understanding of where we’re headed in our sessions and the overall work we do together. I help clients get really clear on what they want to achieve, ensuring their goals reflect their unique needs, values, and aspirations. By maintaining open communication and revisiting these goals as therapy progresses, we stay aligned and focused on meaningful, achievable outcomes that support lasting growth and change.
