Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Sam, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of The Maternal Space.

I’ve always had a heart for mothers. As a mom, I know motherhood can be such a beautiful and meaningful part of life, but it can also feel overwhelming, exhausting, lonely, and sometimes just really hard. There are so many changes that come with becoming a mom and figuring out who you are in the middle of it all.

I created The Maternal Space because I wanted mothers to have a place that is just for them. A place where you can come in, take a breath, and not have to pretend that everything is okay. You can talk about the things that feel too heavy, the things you’re struggling with, or even the things you’re not quite sure how to put into words.

Whether you’re a new mom trying to find your footing, feeling overwhelmed by everything on your plate, struggling to find yourself again, or simply feeling like you need someone in your corner, I’m here to walk alongside you.

My hope is that when you’re in this space, you feel comfortable being yourself. No judgment, no expectations, and no need to have it all figured out. Just a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.

You spend so much of your time caring for everyone else. The Maternal Space is a place for you, too.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I want to get to know you, not just as a mom, but as a whole person. We’ll take time to talk about what’s going on in your life, what feels hard right now, and what you need more or less of!

I’m not here to tell you how you should feel or what kind of mom you should be. Instead, we’ll work together to better understand what you’re experiencing and find what feels right for you.

What you can expect from me

I want our first session to feel like a get to know you conversation rather than an interview. My goal and hope is to be someone you trust and look forward to coming to.
