Great to meet you!

My name is Samantha (or Sam)!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging moments. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Florida State University and went on to pursue clinical licensure in the state of Florida. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively in child welfare and community-based mental health settings, where I developed a deep commitment to helping people navigate complex emotional experiences with compassion and practical support. These environments have shaped my approach to therapy, emphasizing resilience, safety, and meaningful change. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing trauma, suicidal thoughts or ideation, depression, and anxiety. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped with the tools needed to move toward healing and growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine compassion. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and completely free from judgment. Many people come to therapy carrying thoughts, experiences, or struggles they have never said out loud before. My goal is to make sure you feel that you can share the good, the difficult, and even the parts of your story that feel messy or complicated, without fear of being judged or misunderstood. While I lead with kindness and empathy, I also believe in being honest and direct when it’s helpful. Part of my role is compassionately helping you notice patterns or behaviors that may be contributing to your struggles, while offering guidance and perspective along the way. At the same time, I believe deeply that you are the expert on your own life. Rather than telling you what you should do, I work alongside you to explore what matters most to you and support you in moving toward the kind of life you want to build. I also believe that suffering is a natural part of the human experience. My goal is not to eliminate every difficult feeling, but to help you feel less imprisoned by it. Together, we work on understanding your experiences, building resilience, and learning how to move through life’s challenges rather than avoiding them. Therapy becomes a place where you can be fully seen for who you are today, while also being supported in who you are becoming.

What you can expect from me

During our first meeting, my goal is to give you a sense of who I am, learn a little about what brings you to therapy, and begin creating a space where you feel at ease. If you need a few sessions to settle in and get to know me, that’s perfectly okay. If you feel ready to jump in and start exploring things right away, that’s great too. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
