Great to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Samantha West, and I would like to thank you for prioritizing your mental health and wellness. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 8+ years of experience and received my degree from Monmouth University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am also certified as a Student Assistance Counselor (SAC). I am familiar with counseling adolescents, teens, and young adults. I also have much experience working with the LGBTQ+ population and substance use disorders. My calendar is flexible, I don't always open it up completely so please contact me to see if I can accommodate your schedule!

My approach to therapy

I am passionate about individualizing the therapeutic experience and meeting the client where they are emotionally. I believe counseling should be a customized approach, one that honors your unique journey. I use solution-focused, psychoanalytical, cognitive-behavioral methods, and reality therapy to assist you in achieving your goals. I place an emphasis on exploring belief systems and how these contribute to current behaviors, thoughts, and emotions.

What you can expect from me

My goal for clients is to provide a safe space in which you can leave feeling equipped and empowered to navigate challenges in your life. It is important to me this is achieved through the use of validation, humor, empathetic listening, and encouragement.
