Great to meet you!

Reaching out for therapy is a courageous first step, and you don’t have to take it alone. Dr. Charles provides virtual therapy for adults, couples, adolescents, and children, offering flexible, supportive care from the comfort of your own space. With twenty years of private practice, Dr. Charles has helped clients navigate anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, stress, relationship concerns, and career or academic challenges. She holds a doctorate in Behavioral Health and completed advanced CBT training through New York University, grounding her work in evidence-based approaches. Her background also includes years of supervising clinical staff in school settings, giving her a deep understanding of the academic, social, and emotional pressures that young people and their families experience. Dr. Charles brings a compassionate, practical, and collaborative approach to therapy, meeting each client where they are while helping them move toward meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Charles's approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and strengths based. She believes that each person has the capacity for meaningful growth and change, and her role is to provide a therapeutic space where that growth can unfold. She tailors therapy to meet your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based practices while honoring your individual experiences, values, and goals. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, or life transitions, she helps you feel heard, understood, and empowered. Therapy is not about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you reconnect with your strengths and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and resilience.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel both hopeful and a little uncertain. In her first session, she will focus on getting to know what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the work together. She will ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, relationships, and any previous counseling experiences. This helps her understand the full picture of who you are—not just the challenges you’re facing. There’s no pressure to share everything at once; she will move at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful of your readiness. A strong therapeutic relationship is essential, and she will welcome any questions you may have about the process.
