Great to meet you!

My name is Samuel Isaiah (Zay) Bisset, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) based in Dallas, Texas. I work with high-functioning individuals who are navigating the quieter cost of a demanding life — the steady weight of always being the one who holds things together.

My approach is somatic and body-informed, grounded in the understanding that insight alone rarely produces lasting change. We work with the nervous system directly — building safety, restoring regulation, and reconnecting you with what matters most.

I bring a multicultural and relational lens to my work, shaped by a background in classical language and literature and graduate training in Clinical Counseling Psychology. I work with warmth, precision, and deep respect for the complexity you carry.

If you've been functioning well on the outside while quietly running on empty, this may be the right space for you.

My approach to therapy

My practice is inclusive and affirming of LGBTQIA+ individuals, grounded in respect, dignity, and the belief that every person deserves care without qualification.

My work is primarily informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and somatic approaches to healing. ACT integrates both Eastern and Western traditions to help you relate differently to painful thoughts and experiences — building psychological flexibility so you can stay present, make room for discomfort when needed, and take action aligned with your values.

Somatic work brings attention to the body itself — breath, sensation, and the physiology of stress. For high-functioning individuals, the nervous system often carries what the mind has learned to push through. Addressing that layer directly is where lasting change tends to begin.

Across all my work, I emphasize collaboration, curiosity, and practical application. Therapy is not about fixing who you are — it's about helping you relate to yourself differently, so movement becomes possible and sustainable.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is focused on clarity and connection. We'll spend time understanding what brings you in, what you're hoping will shift, and what a meaningful outcome looks like for you.

Together we'll begin identifying goals — some practical and measurable, others tracked through how you experience yourself day to day. All of it is driven by what you actually want, not a predetermined framework.

You can expect a session that is thoughtful, unhurried, and respectful — a space to begin, not to perform.
