Great to meet you!

I’m Samuel Hagston, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling. My experience includes helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. I offer a supportive space where you can speak openly, better understand what you’re experiencing, and work toward changes that matter to you.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to you. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and motivational interviewing to help you understand patterns, develop useful skills, and take steps toward your goals. Together, we explore both what is keeping you stuck and what gives your life meaning. I bring curiosity, compassion, and honest feedback while respecting your pace and choices.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to counseling. I’ll ask about your current concerns, relevant history, strengths, and what you hope will change. We’ll also discuss confidentiality, how therapy works, and any questions you have. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out or share everything immediately. Together, we’ll identify a starting point and begin developing a plan that fits your needs.
