Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Sam, a licensed clinical social worker who helps adults, particularly men, move through challenges with clarity and practical tools. My style is direct, solution-focused, and curious. I’ll ask thoughtful questions and work with you to find strategies that fit your life so you can feel more grounded and confident.

I specialize in supporting people dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions that affect identity, purpose, fatherhood, or relationships. My approach is warm and structured, giving you space to talk openly while helping you understand what is getting in the way and how to move forward.

Therapy with me is about creating steady progress in a supportive, down-to-earth space. I have worked in the field since 2013, including many years in inpatient psychiatric care, and I bring a calm, steady presence to each session. I’m here to help you make sense of what you are carrying, reduce overwhelm, and build a life that feels clearer and more meaningful.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded, practical, and focused on helping you understand what is happening in your life and what you can do next. I take a direct, solution-oriented style, and I’ll ask thoughtful questions to help you sort through stress, pressure, and the parts of life that feel unclear. Therapy with me is active and collaborative. We look at patterns, identify what is getting in the way, and build realistic steps that fit your life.

I combine CBT, solution-focused strategies, motivational interviewing, and supportive exploration to help you gain clarity and feel more steady. Many of the men I work with come in feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure of their direction, and we work together to create a sense of grounding and purpose.

I believe therapy should feel supportive but also productive. You will always know what we are working on, why it matters, and how it connects to the changes you want in your life. My goal is to help you understand yourself more fully, reduce stress, and build momentum toward the life you want.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a calm, steady space where you can talk openly about what has been weighing on you. I’ll ask questions to understand what is happening in your life, what feels most stressful, and what you want to change. You do not have to prepare anything or know exactly where to start. We will take it step by step.

The first session is focused on getting a clear picture of what brings you in, what you have tried so far, and what you need most right now. We will identify the main areas you want to work on and begin outlining a direction that feels realistic and manageable. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative, so you can expect honest conversation without judgment or pressure.

By the end of the session, you will have a sense of next steps, a clearer understanding of your goals, and a plan for how we will move forward together. Most people describe the first session as grounding and relieving, because it gives them space to slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of what they are carrying.
