Sandie is dedicated to supporting clients of all ages, with a particular focus on neurodivergence and trauma. She is passionate about helping people from all walks of life, creating a safe environment where trusting relationships foster change. Her goal is to empower individuals. Sandie spent nine years as a special education teacher, gaining expertise in best practices for working with individuals with special needs and differentiating instruction based on individual needs. She has experience working with various mental health diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder and is rostered with the Hackett Center for Trauma and Grief in Adolescents, qualifying her to provide trauma and grief support for youths aged 12-20. Sandie holds both a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies and a master’s degree in social work from Texas State University. She completed internships in a hospital setting, providing CBT, DBT, and psycho-education in intensive outpatient group therapy and working with adults with autism to develop self-advocacy skills. Sandie has spent the last 3.5 years providing individual outpatient services, along with school based services for K-12.

My approach to therapy

Sandie specializations in neurodivergence and has additional training in trauma and grief. She appreciates adding warmth and humor into sessions to create a relaxed, comfortable, and safe environment. Her main therapeutic modalities include CBT, mindfulness, client-centered, and strengths based.
