Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Sandy Crisp. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and I help adults and teens who are facing challenges like complex trauma, PTSD, addiction and recovery, chronic health issues, anxiety, depression, and feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

Before I became a trauma therapist, I went through my own journey that included multiple surgeries and years of rehabilitation. That experience gave me a deep understanding of what it’s like to live with invisible pain—physical and emotional—and how hard it can be to feel seen and supported while you're trying to hold everything together. It changed how I listen, how I connect, and how I support people in their healing.

In addition to being an LPC, I’m a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist. I specialize in:

  • Complex trauma and PTSD
  • Addiction, substance use, and recovery support
  • Chronic pain and chronic illness
  • Anxiety, panic, and mood disorders
  • Grief, loss, and adjustment to life changes
  • Co-occurring disorders
  • Disability Affirming Care
  • Limb Loss & Amputation Affirming Therapy
  • Navigating identity, self-worth, and personal growth

My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I blend clinical tools with a human touch because healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether you're navigating something recent or something that's been with you a long time, we’ll work together to help you feel safer in your body, clearer in your mind, and more connected to yourself.

If you're just starting to wonder if healing is possible -- or you're ready to get started --I'm here to walk with you.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, which means I focus not just on what’s “wrong,” but on what’s happened to you—and how we can gently, safely begin the process of healing.

My work is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and deep respect for your pace and your process. I believe healing happens in relationship -- in a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment.

I draw from evidence-based practices tailored to your specific needs, which may include:

  • Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Mindfulness-based approaches
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Somatic awareness techniques
  • Addiction and recovery counseling
  • Strength-based and person-centered frameworks

Every session is shaped by your goals and your story. Whether you’re working through trauma, addiction, chronic pain, or emotional overwhelm, we’ll create a path forward together—one that honors where you’ve been and helps you move toward where you want to be.

Let’s take that first step together. Reach out when you're ready or with any questions. Your road to healing can begin here.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve been carrying your pain alone for a long time. Here’s what you can expect when working with me:

  • A safe, welcoming space where you can talk openly without fear of judgment.
  • A therapist who listens deeply—not just to your words, but to what’s underneath them.
  • A collaborative process—you’re the expert on your life, and I’m here to support, guide, and walk alongside you.
  • Tools and strategies you can actually use between sessions to feel more grounded and empowered.
  • Respect for your boundaries, identity, and values every step of the way.

Our first session is about getting to know each other, understanding your goals, and setting the foundation for a supportive, trusting relationship.

You don’t need to have it all figured out before starting therapy. You just need to be willing to begin. I’ll meet you where you are.

Ready to start healing? Let’s take the first step together.
