Great to meet you!

Hello, you can call me Sandy. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes that everyone deserves a space where they can feel heard, understood, and supported without fear of judgment. My professional background includes inpatient psychiatric care, forensic social work, and child welfare, which has given me the opportunity to work with individuals from different backgrounds who are navigating some of life’s most challenging experiences.

I understand that reaching out for therapy is not always easy. Sometimes, you may know something needs to change but feel unsure where to start. Other times, you may be so accustomed to being the strong one for everyone else that you have not had much space to focus on yourself. Whatever brings you to therapy, I want you to know that you do not have to have everything figured out before we begin.

My approach is compassionate, practical, and grounded in meeting people where they are. I value creating a space where you can speak openly, explore your experiences, recognize your strengths, and develop tools that make a meaningful difference in your everyday life. I believe growth happens when we feel safe enough to be honest with ourselves and supported enough to try something different.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, difficult life transitions, or feeling overwhelmed by the expectations you place on yourself, my goal is to help you better understand yourself and feel more confident in how you move forward.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, person-centered, and focused on helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself while building practical skills for everyday life. I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based approaches, and trauma-informed care to help clients explore the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences.

I believe therapy should be a place where you feel comfortable being honest, even when what you are experiencing feels difficult to explain. Together, we can identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, explore how past experiences influence your present, and develop healthier ways of responding to stress, managing emotions, and navigating relationships.

I also believe in recognizing the strengths you already possess. Sometimes, the very strategies that helped us get through difficult circumstances no longer serve us in the same way. Therapy can help you understand those patterns without blaming yourself while learning new ways to cope, communicate, and move forward.

What you can expect from me

You can expect me to show up with empathy, honesty, and respect for your individual journey. I am not here to judge you or tell you who you should be. I am here to help you work toward the life, relationships, and sense of peace you want for yourself, one step at a time. I’m a strong believer that you’re an expert on your life and I’m just here to help provide some assistance.
