Dr. Sandra Parawira, D.N.P., P.M.H.N.P.-B.C., A.G.A.C.N.P.-B.C.

I am a dual board-certified, doctoral prepared psychiatric nurse practitioner with a total of over 11 years' experience as an Advanced Practice Provider. I have extensive experience in mental health care, as well as neurology, and internal medicine. Although, I recently acquired my Psych Mental Health Certification; I have had extensive experience over the last 11.5 years treating mental health disorders, as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in my Neuroscience practice. Throughout my career, I have worked with adults across a variety of clinical settings, allowing me to develop a well-rounded approach to psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. I have a special interest in managing mental health disorders in patients with chronic neurologic conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Dementia as well as other chronic illnesses.

My approach to care is collaborative and individualized. I believe in taking the time to understand each person’s unique experiences, concerns, and goals while creating a safe and supportive environment where they feel heard and respected. I work with patients to develop thoughtful treatment plans that may include medication management, education, and ongoing support.

My goal is to empower each patient to take an active role in their mental health and well-being. I strive to build trusting, long-term relationships with the individuals I serve and am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that supports meaningful and lasting progress.
