Sara Fieldson

Hi my name is Sara, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado. I came to this work later in life, which means I bring both professional training and the kind of perspective that only comes from decades of real experience. I've navigated career transitions, lived abroad, and faced the same sorts of hard questions my clients bring to therapy. I work with adults dealing with anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, substance use, and major life transitions. My approach is warm and solution-oriented, I'll meet you where you are and help you find what actually works for your life, not a generic blueprint.

I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy — approaches that are practical, action-oriented, and focused on real change. I'm strength-based, meaning I'm more interested in building on what's already working in you than cataloguing what's broken. Sessions are collaborative and real, I'll be honest with you, challenge you when it's useful, and also genuinely celebrate the progress you make. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy, and I tailor every approach to the specific person sitting across from me.

We'll start with a conversation, I'll ask about what's bringing you in, what you've tried before, and what you're hoping for. We'll talk about your goals and begin sketching out what our work together might look like. By the end, you'll have a clear sense of whether this feels right. There's no commitment required after one session, and there's nothing you need to prepare or get right. Just show up, that's the hardest part.
