Great to meet you!

Hi! Thanks for considering counseling to help you meet your goals. I'm Sara Hardy, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I've been providing counseling to individuals, couples, and families for over 30 years and am a Board Certified Telemental Health provider with over 15 years of experience providing distance counseling. Whether you want to meet personal goals, manage stress, or want to work through relationship or family challenges, let’s work together.

My approach to therapy

At my core, I am a Person-Centered therapist. This means I don't just see a diagnosis; I see a person with unique strengths and a story worth hearing. Whether I am helping a client move past trauma, reduce anxiety or depression, guiding a parent through the complexities of raising children in this complicated time, or supporting couples navigating relationship challenges, I bring a steady, non-judgmental presence and a wealth of clinical wisdom to every conversation. I am here to be a grounded, expert partner on your journey toward balance and peace.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, the focus is on creating a welcoming and comfortable space where you can share your story at your own pace. Here is what you can typically expect during our initial meeting:

A Warm, Person-Centered Welcome: We start by focusing on your immediate needs, ensuring you feel heard, valued, and understood from the very first minute.

Building a Connection: The session is a dedicated space to begin building a foundation of trust and mutual respect.

Exploring Motivation: We may use Motivational Interviewing techniques to explore your readiness for change and tap into your internal strengths.

Understanding Your History: I will gather information about your background and current challenges to help identify the core issues you'd like to address.

Collaborative Planning: Together, we will outline a personalized plan and discuss your hopes for therapy.

Clarifying the Process: I encourage you to ask questions about the methods we might use, such as CBT, CPT, or EMDR, so you feel fully informed and empowered.
