Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Sara Harker, LCSW, and I’m so glad you’re here!

Reaching out for support is a powerful step, and it’s one I deeply respect.

I specialize in helping individuals navigate the impacts of trauma, addiction, grief, and life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental—I strive to create a safe space where you can be fully seen and supported as you work toward healing and growth.

As a licensed clinical social worker with a background in nonprofit leadership, harm reduction, and crisis intervention, I bring both clinical expertise and real-world experience to our work together. I believe in the power of connection, accountability, and compassion as tools for transformation.

Clients often describe me as grounded, honest, and deeply empathetic. Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about creating lasting change in a way that honors your story and your strengths.

If you’re ready to start your healing journey, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, solution-focused, and deeply client-centered. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to support and guide you as we work together to identify your strengths, clarify your goals, and develop practical tools for change.

I integrate a range of evidence-based practices—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing—to meet your unique needs. I also incorporate harm reduction principles, trauma-informed care, and a holistic view of wellness that honors both your emotional and lived experiences.

Sessions with me are active and supportive. I will challenge you with compassion, celebrate your progress, and help you stay grounded when life feels overwhelming. Therapy with me is a space for honesty, healing, and forward momentum—always with your goals and values leading the way.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions with a greater sense of clarity, self-awareness, and emotional resilience. Whether we’re working through trauma, managing anxiety or depression, or navigating recovery and life transitions, my goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and empowered.

You’ll take away practical tools to regulate emotions, set healthy boundaries, and challenge unhelpful thought patterns. Over time, many clients report feeling more grounded in themselves, more confident in their choices, and more connected in their relationships.

Most of all, you’ll gain a therapeutic space that’s consistent, compassionate, and rooted in trust—where healing is not only possible, but expected.
