Great to meet you!

If you're exhausted from carrying anxiety, depression, or the weight of a trauma that keeps resurfacing, you don't have to do it alone. For seven years I've worked with adolescents, adults, and older adults who are ready to stop managing everything on their own, whether that's racing anxious thoughts, the heaviness of depression, the aftershocks of PTSD, a relationship with substance use that's gotten complicated, or grief, anger, and mood swings that feel bigger than you can handle. You're allowed to be tired of holding it all together. Together we'll build a space where you can put some of that weight down and start moving toward a life that feels more like yours.

My approach to therapy

Sessions with me are collaborative. You're the expert on your own life, and my job is to help you use that expertise to get somewhere new. I draw on CBT, DBT, trauma-focused CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based work, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused approaches, but which tools we use depends on what's actually going on for you, not a script. Expect a strengths-based, person-centered space where we name the patterns keeping you stuck and build practical coping skills you can use outside of session, not just talk about inside it.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is mostly about getting oriented. We'll talk through what brought you in, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping is different down the road. It's normal to feel nervous walking in, most people do. I'll ask the questions, you'll do most of the talking, and by the end we'll have a rough sense of where to start. There's no pressure to have it all figured out on day one, that's what the rest of our work is for.
