Great to meet you!

Are you struggling with anxiety, grief related to the loss of a loved one, infertility, divorce, and/or past trauma related to your relationships? Have these situations left you struggling at work, disconnected from what brings you joy, or questioning why this terrible thing happened? Do you often feel exhausted, defeated, and fearful? Maybe you wonder if life will ever go "back to normal" or get better. Now more than ever, adults and teens are feeling overwhelmed about working through anxiety, grief and loss, stressful life events, cultivating healthy and supportive relationships, and finding hope during uncertain times.

I believe each person has the potential for healing, connection, and building healthier relationships with a good support system. I also believe that the health of our closest relationships are a strong predictor of our emotional health. That includes the relationship with ourselves!

In my practice I provide individual therapy for people experiencing different kinds of grief, loss, relationship related trauma, and major life stressors. I am particularly passionate about helping clients heal intergenerational trauma, attachment-related challenges, and navigate the grief of a loved one's passing, infertility and pregnancy loss, divorce and breakups,

Additionally, I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, life transitions and stressors such a going away to college or entering the workforce, and those who would like to feel more connected to themselves and others.

I have been serving my community in the behavioral and mental health fields for 12 years and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from University of California, Santa Cruz and a Master of Social Work from California State University, East Bay. I have provided behavioral and mental health care in community, in-home, and school-based programs with infants, young children, teens, and adults.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, and curious. I am here to help you identify and understand the areas that you feel need more care and attention or simply need to change in order to move through this current life challenge.

In order to do that, I first take time getting to know and understand you during the initial consultation and intake sessions. Then, I will help you set a couple of goals and identify some of the root causes of your pain to address in therapy. Next, I help you choose some new tools you can use to build more tolerance and acceptance for these painful life event(s).

I use a blend of different treatment models because I don't believe one size fits all. I also ask for feedback to know if my approaches are supporting your individual needs and making a positive impact on your well-being and relationships. I believe strongly in the mind-body connection, so some of the treatment approaches I typically bring into sessions are acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), some elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), compassion focused therapy, and somatic therapy.

What you can expect from me

I provide individual therapy for teens and adults 13 years of age and older. In my practice we are working together to help you grow and achieve your goals. I also think of therapy as a place where we can slow down a bit to think through challenges and process difficult experiences. There will be times when we come up with solutions or things to try, and other times where we identify how you can best take care of yourself through difficult moments.

The most wonderful part of my job is seeing people I work with become more kind, loving, and accepting of themselves while also building healthier habits and a life that is full of meaning and connection.
