Great to meet you!

I’m Sara, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey to mental wellness and personal growth. With a compassionate and client-centered approach, I offer a safe and welcoming space where you can explore your concerns, discover your strengths, and work towards meaningful change.

As someone who has navigated the complexities of the mental health field, I understand that each person’s story is unique. My practice is rooted in evidence-based therapies tailored to meet your individual needs, whether you’re dealing with anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply seeking personal development.

I invite you to explore my website to learn more about the services I offer, and I look forward to the opportunity to work together as you take the next steps on your path to well-being.

My approach to therapy

In my practice, I draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to meet the unique needs of each client. I am also certified in treating complex PTSD and substance use disorder, allowing me to offer specialized support for individuals facing these challenges.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): I often incorporate CBT techniques to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns. This approach can be particularly effective for managing anxiety, depression, and stress.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): For clients looking to address specific issues in a shorter time frame, I use solution-focused strategies that emphasize your strengths and the steps needed to achieve your goals.
  • Mindfulness and Acceptance-Based Approaches: I integrate mindfulness practices and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to help clients cultivate greater self-compassion and presence.
  • Trauma-Informed Care: With a certification in complex PTSD, I provide trauma-informed approaches that prioritize safety, trust, and empowerment, ensuring that you feel supported and in control of your healing journey.
  • Substance Use Disorder Treatment: As someone certified in substance use disorder treatment, I offer compassionate and non-judgmental support for those navigating recovery and seeking healthier coping strategies. These approaches allow me to tailor our work to fit your specific needs, and I look forward to supporting you on your path to well-being.

What you can expect from me

Your first session, often called the intake session, is a chance for us to get to know each other and to lay the groundwork for our therapeutic journey together. Here’s a brief overview of what that session typically involves:

  1. Getting to Know You: We’ll start with some introductions and a conversation about what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask you about your background, your current concerns, and any goals you might have. This helps me understand your unique situation and how I can best support you.
  2. Discussing Your History: We’ll go over some of your personal and medical history, including any previous experiences with therapy or mental health treatment. This information is important to help me tailor my approach to your needs.
  3. Explaining the Process: I’ll explain how therapy works, what kinds of approaches we might use, and answer any questions you have about confidentiality, session structure, or anything else on your mind. It’s important that you feel comfortable and informed.
  4. Setting Goals: Together, we’ll start to identify some initial goals for therapy. These might evolve over time, but it’s helpful to have a starting point so we can track your progress.

Remember, the intake session is all about creating a safe and welcoming space for you to share and ask questions. My goal is to make sure you feel heard and supported from the very first meeting.
