Sara Quinones

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and graduate of Yale School of Nursing, I am passionate about helping individuals and families achieve emotional wellness. I am a Texas native who now provides services to clients in Washington, DC. The services I offer include psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing, and medication management services for clients ages 6 and older. I have specialize in treating a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. My approach is personalized, compassionate, and focused on partnering with each client to develop a treatment plan that supports their unique needs and goals.

I strive to use a collaborative approach in which we address concerns as a team. I am trauma-informed and person-centered in my care, while also following evidence-based practices. In this, I recognize that each individual is the expert on their own life and experiences. My goal is to use motivational interviewing and other strategies to guide treatment planning and assist clients participate actively in their care so we may achieve lasting, meaningful change.

For an initial session, clients can expect a structured interview in which we discuss presenting concerns, symptoms, background, and goals for care. These sessions last approximately 60 minutes and will include a plan for follow-up and expectations for treatment. I aim to create a safe space where we can build rapport, voice concerns, and provide education as appropriate.
